Goodbye and good riddance, La Nina

I am so excited! I just heard that sea temperatures in the Pacific are returning to normal, after having been cooler than average for the past 18 months or so, bringing us a green tomato summer in 2010 and a spring 2011 so cold and wet that moss spores are taking root in our ears.

The next three months are likely to be drier than normal, although temperatures might be a little less than normal. By mid July we should actually experience hot summer weather.

If you’d like to read all about it, check out the state climatologist’s monthly report for May-June 2011 that just came out today.

So let’s all hold on a little longer. The sun is on its way.
